The Pleasures of Beautiful Food Partnered with Good Music: Thank you, Andy and Sherry!

To begin with, Dad & Mom have been driving out to the beautiful town of Napanee for years, stopping in to purchase a bag of their favourite flavoured coffee, eat some after-church breakfast or have a sandwich followed by a dreamy dessert.  The place, The Chit Chat Cafe & Country Market.

I think that Andy makes the best Eggs Benedict anywhere.  I have sampled this style of eggs in many places over the years, but these are the pinnacle of what Eggs Benedict need to be.

P1110557The first evening concert and buffet that Dad and I attended was for performer Spencer Evans.  The guy never stopped moving (the reason I wasn’t able to collect one focused photograph!)…his music took Dad and I on a journey of well-loved tunes.  Parts of the evening were so nostalgic that they were painfully beautiful.  Mom was in the forefront of our thoughts as we experienced a whole collection of swing tunes.  I remember my parents dancing to these tunes and others and would give anything if my daughter Cayley could have seen them and their joy of music and dance.

Included in the program that night…

Cab Calloway’s 1934 Hi De Ho

Paired with an excellent buffet, I treasured sharing music with Dad.  I will not forget our table conversations or anything about the experience.
