The next piece of music in Dad’s collection is Danny Boy with words written by Frederic Weatherly. This is one that we’ve all heard, I’m certain, but it doesn’t matter how often, it brings up a sense of nostalgia every time. I’m going to guess that Dad would have sung this over live radio CHAB during the mid 1940s.
I included the following performance because it was performed in dedication to military and first responders around the world.
From Dad, on this one, “your old man singing Danny Boy in 1957 in Fort McMurray, Alta accompanied by the Central Command Band of the RCAF in 1956.”
