DSC_1960Lovejoy

I am craning
my neck to watch the sky.
Binoculars balancing on the bridge of my nose.
Where are you,
Lovejoy?

A mere glimpse would be enough!
I have no idea
why this is so important to me…
except that once,
white-haired Pearl
shared a memory
of filing
through dark
passageways with
‘the sisters’,
all, in
nightgowns,
heavenly bodies. Halley’s Comet.
Young girls lined up,
chins resting on wooden bannister,
Alberta skies, 1910.

I want to share
a memory.
