Larry Weaver

Dear mentor, artist and friend.

On my wedding day, Larry presented my new husband and me with two chalices that I knew I would treasure for always!  For me, they represented the cup of life…poured…shared and that love would go on into eternity.  The clay chalices represented the two of us, in our love, open to possibility and vessels of God’s promise.

The divorce broke all of that.  The beautiful vessels disappeared in the throws of pain.

What I do have, however, is this pitcher.  Larry was one of those amazing professors at the University of Lethbridge during the day when life was so idyllic.  He also, in my second last year, along with his beautiful wife, Nina, opened his home to me.  I loved the security of their home, the fact that the kitchen filled with smells of baked cookies…the joy in sharing breakfast with family.  This piece of clay, masterfully thrown, provides for a myriad of memories.  It is a gift.  It is without price.
