I’m just so disappointed that I can’t share with my readers, images of the Buffleheads doing their courting dances at Frank’s Flats. However, I never steer clear of the act of documenting the same subject again and again, whether it’s in paint, poetry or photographs. I think in revisiting content, you grow to know it more.
So, today…a few more images of the Mallards and the Blackbirds. It was a glorious day at the the pond…a cool spring day. Watch those ant hills! They are awake and actively moving…you want to be wearing your rubber boots!
I love the ptoto’s of the red wing Black bird..was 1 I really enjoyed & would love photo’s of the ” cattail’s (bushes) * pussy willows if you see them!!
Eunice, thanks so much for checking in on birds of yesterday…I love watching them during this courting season also. The females remain very well hidden until their defensive behaviours show up after the eggs are laid. I’m amazed by all that goes into eeking out a life as a bird. Nature and humankind cause everything to be so precarious. Sending love east!

I appreciate this. I guess what happens is that when you take up a hobby, you begin to notice like minded people who share this passion…you begin to analyse as your interest grows…you begin to notice MORE, what you know. It’s an interesting thing. My photographs provide me with documentation. This is key, in terms of my bird watching/counting.
I hear you but see your photos as more than documentation, and certainly more than a ‘hobby’. You see through your camera as you see onto a canvas, with an artist’s eye.
