As I continue to Part With Words, I become enthusiastic about embedding the bits into layers of resin. I have a vision for what I want to do and I’m piecing together various bits of information from crafters and artists the world over. As I painstakingly cut the pages into squares, I consider what materials I might need to use for a mold. I wonder if the ink of my writing-pen will bleed once saturated with resin. I ponder how I will suspend the sections of my piece or how will I display them. All sorts of questions come to mind. In my meanderings I have discovered two artists who have absolutely blown me away by their meticulous and in so many ways, technical works; one is Riusuke Fukahori and the other is Dustin Yellin.
First, I hope my readers will view the process exhibited in this Vimeo film of Fukahori. Initially, I believed the goldfish to be real. Take a look.

Demonstrating techniques using resin and also sheet glass, Dustin Yellin’s work is ‘fantastical’, given the change in the image, with the change of point of view and perception. I have borrowed the image from the Samuel Freeman Art Gallery and hope that my readers will look at additional works.
