I’ve never been much of an expert in the kitchen, but what I’ve really enjoyed, all my life, is preparing what I will often refer to as ‘peasant food’ or ‘comfort food’. Most of the time these meals are served in one pot…several ingredients melded together to give you that ‘warm-in-the-tummy’ sort of feeling. I don’t really relate with the term, ‘finely chopped’, but like large chunks of ingredients, cooked to tender, but not overcooked. One of our family favourites is traditional Shepherd’s Pie.
