Ok…so I went to the Chapel, intending to be home by noon…it’s almost 3:30 and I’ve just settled in. My neck has a big knot in it…I can tell that I’ve been both stretching and ‘leaning in’. A challenging time painting, I think…I wasn’t so trusting in my intuitive self and was perhaps ‘too much in the driver’s seat’. I began to deal with the crowds outside the interior. I’m using photographs of my students. Last week they stepped out into the spring weather and posed for me outside of our staffroom windows. I like the idea that the figures above are interpretations of historical figures and that the ones standing in the window, albeit misproportioned yet again, are of a contemporary context.
I’ve continued my research on alabaster jars and will complete my collection of vessels by doing a beautiful white alabaster jar with stopper and a ceramic plate filled with flatbread. And then on with the next layers.
The remainder of the day is going to be spent relaxing…not in the studio painting…a nice hot soak in the bath tub…then a snooze perhaps!
Wishing you all a peaceful day.
